The Road and Stormwater Tunnel, better known as the Smart Tunnel, is one of the stretches in the Klang Valley that motorbikes and heavy vehicles are not allowed to access, and it has been over the 15 years of operation of the road. .
The recorded public notice prohibiting motorcycles from using the tunnel dates back to 2008, and the reminders continue today in the form of signage installed at the various entrances leading to the four-kilometer-long dual-level highway.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped bikers from using the tunnel, with enough videos and social media posts highlighting this illegal activity over the years, despite repeated pleas for motorcyclists to stop using it. TO DO. The reason for refusing its use to two-wheeled vehicles is simple: the tunnel is narrow and the risk of accidents is high.

Earlier today, its operator, Smart, again warned motorcyclists that two-wheeled vehicles are not allowed to enter the tunnel. In a tweet, Smart added that motorcyclists and passengers are not covered by insurance if they are involved in an accident inside the tunnel.
On its website, the company specifies that the only vehicles authorized to use the Smart Tunnel are passenger cars, minivans and SUVs, whose height does not exceed two meters. There are three entry/exit lanes for the smart tunnel, namely at Sungai Besi, next to RMAF Airport at Jalan Tun Razak, at Kg Pandan Roundabout, next to RHB Bank at Jalan Sultan Ismail and at the traffic light Park Royal Hotel, next to Berjaya Times Square.
