Serene Insurance recognized as the fastest growing insurance company

Serene Insurance, a member of the First Sky Group, operating in the field of general insurance in Ghana, was recognized Friday evening as the fastest growing insurance company during the 5th edition of the Ghana Insurance Awards which took place is held in Accra.

This recognition builds on the reputation Serene Insurance has built as a provider of reliable, cost-effective insurance products and services that meet the needs of the underwriting public.

From the start with just one branch, Serene Insurance now has nine branches with over 68 employees and over 40,000 institutional and retail clients, showing the steady growth and market penetration of the industry in Ghana in the space of four years.

The aggressive expansion of Serene Insurance’s agency network of over 200 active agents across the country, unparalleled customer service, a solid financial base, being one of the well capitalized players in the industry and the inclusive penetration of products in the insurance market, among other innovations, have positioned it as the new face of insurance.

Serene Insurance recorded strong growth in key financial metrics across its various business segments, as it recorded approximately GH¢43.3 million in gross written premiums for fiscal year 2021, representing an increase of 50% compared to GH¢21.7 million in 2020.

Reacting to the recognition, Serene Insurance’s Marketing Manager, Ms. Eugenia Agyire-Tettey, said, “At Serene Insurance, we are driven by the truism that a satisfied customer is the best business strategy of all. This is why we are committed and focused on timely claims payment, staying true to our word of providing unprecedented and prompt claims payments.”

Ms Agyire-Tettey noted that Serene Insurance has partnered with credible local and international reinsurance brands to support business operations by providing another layer of protection to policyholders as a demonstration of commitment to protecting the interests client.

Managing Director Mr Michael Agbleke noted that Serene Insurance held the award in high regard, stressing that it would serve as a constant reminder for the company to strive to deepen its efforts to create value for all stakeholders.

“We remain focused on being the preferred insurance partner and institution of choice for our people, shareholders and customers,” noted Mr. Agbleke in thanks to all stakeholders.

In his welcome remarks, Managing Director of Xodus Communications, organizer of the Ghana Insurance Awards, Mr. Richard Abbey, noted that his team was partnering with industry players to promote higher standards and recognize excellence .

The Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, who was the guest of honor, congratulated the nominees and winners for pushing the boundaries of excellence and quality services.

The Ghana Insurance Awards is a registered trademark owned by Xodus Communications Limited, organizers of Forty under 40 Ghana, Forty under 40 Africa, Ghana Oil and Gas Awards, Ghana Manufacturing Awards and Ghana Auto Awards.

Other winners of the event were Bima, Nationwide medical, Enterprise insurance and SIC Life for Hall of Fame.

For the CSR leadership award, Allianz Life Insurance Company, Absa and Bancassurance were rewarded.

Brand of the year went to Insurance category went to Prudential Life Insurance, General Insurance brand of the year went to Star Assurance and Product innovation Life category went to Old mutual insurance.
