FSC helps flood-affected Australians locate lost life insurance policies

The FSC directs anyone who has lost important documents and doesn’t know which company their life insurance belongs to to its website.

“FSC can help flood victims find lost life insurance by contacting their life insurance members and asking them to check their records and contact the person if they have a policy or other relevant information” , the FSC said this week.

“FSC recognizes that many people lost important records and documents in the floods and trying to find lost life insurance policies can be a headache for people at a time when they don’t need more stress.”

On Tuesday March 8, the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) revealed that to date insurers have received 96,844 flood-related claims in south-east Queensland and New South Wales.

“Insurers are prioritizing customers in the most serious condition to help them get back on their feet as soon as possible,” said CIA CEO Andrew Hall.

“This means it may take insurers a few weeks to begin the process of assessing less serious claims, but these customers can rest assured that their insurer is there to support them.”
