An insurance company has been ordered to pay compensation of Rs 5.76 crore to a man in Kollam, Car Accident Claims Tribunal in Kollam, Geminidas, from Sasthamkotta, owner of Gemini Heights

The amount of compensation was awarded to Geminidas (55), from Sasthamkotta, owner of Gemini Heights in Sasthamkotta. The order states that until the full amount of Rs 5,76,52,564 is paid, Geminidas shall receive eight percent interest and court expenses.

Kollam: Kollam Automobile Accident Claims Tribunal Judge M Sulekha has ordered an insurance company to pay compensation of Rs 5.76 crore to a man who suffered a serious leg injury in an accident car.

The amount of compensation was awarded to Geminidas (55), from Sasthamkotta, owner of Gemini Heights in Sasthamkotta. The order states that until the full amount of Rs 5,76,52,564 is paid, Geminidas shall receive eight percent interest and court expenses.

The accident took place on May 23, 2015. Geminidas was hit by a car while standing on the side of the road near the Kalloorkavu temple in Kollam. He was seriously injured in the right leg and is still in pain. Geminidas was a businessman in Sharjah. He could not continue his activity after the accident.

The amount of compensation was determined taking into account his income at the time, the possible growth of his income if the accident did not occur, his current disability and his age. PR Ravindran Pillai appeared as Geminidas’ attorney.
